Story: The film begins with a shot of Pandora's dense rainforest. We hear a voiceover by Jack Sully, a former Marine and war veteran who is now paraplegic, and who is dreaming flying. He wakes up in a spaceship that's heading towards Pandora. Pandora is a moon of a planet called Polyphemus. When Jack wakes up, he has been asleep for about 6 years, in a process called cryosleep. He opens his locker and we learn more about his backstory, including that he had a twin brother, Tom, who is now dead — who shot him as someone who robbed him. Tom was a scientist and was supposed to participate in a study and exploration of Pandora as part of the corporate and military agenda.

Since Jack has the same genetics as his brother, he is given the opportunity to take Tom's place for a good salary. Pandora is located 4.3 light-years from Earth and the ship is about to land right now. Outside the landing site, various industrial machines began mining projects, extracting resources from Pandora's nutrient-rich landscape. Jack, along with his fellow participants in the mission, is briefed about the planet. They learn that Pandora's atmosphere does not support human life and will render a human unconscious after 20 seconds of exposure and kill them after 4 minutes.



Review: I've been waiting for this day for a long time. I was a kid when this movie came out in 2009. So I didn't have a chance to see it again. But now that it resurfaced I booked a first day show on an IMAX show and oh boy I was blown away! It is no less than a masterpiece! I can't believe how a movie like this could be made. Every scene, every shot is perfect. You have shifted to a different world and become so engrossed in the film. I've never seen a movie where people stand up from their seats and start clapping! The last time this happened was after Infinity War. The movie was also very bright. I'm from India and it's legitimately rare, where people go crazy, so crazy after any English film. It was an experience I'll never forget. I'm definitely going for it again next weekend because just one wasn't enough.
